Swan River Cruise

It was Mike’s birthday yesterday, so we went on a cruise up the Swan River. The weather was beautiful and it was idyllic to cruise leisurely upriver from the city itself right up to the Swan Valley. There we stopped at a couple of wineries for some tasting, and then had a lovely 3-course lunch. On the way back, all wine was complimentary, so the tour got rather more rowdy at that point!
On arrival back in the city, we had a couple of drinks at a pub on the jetty called “The Lucky Shag” – apparently that is a type of bird! As we were drinking, the weather abruptly changed and rain thundered down all around us as we sheltered by the bar. Surrounded by expanses of river, and with the temperature still very warm, it was quite atmospheric. From there we headed out for a night on the town in Freo, where there seemed to be live bands playing in every bar. Am feeling slightly shaky this morning!
